circa 1830
The music stand is inspired by English furniture of the first quarter of the nineteeth century, very possibly adapted from the designs of the published works of George Smith's Cabinet-Maker and Upholsterer's Guide (1826).
Similar examples of this type of furniture can be found at Temple Newsam House, Leeds (Gilbert, 1978,II,p.491).
Another example of this type is in Clarence House, London. Formerly HM the Queen Mother's collection.
Lightly cleaned the brass. Waxed and revived the Rosewood.
