Early 19th century Regency period penwork card box.
The large flat top is beautifully painted with Chrysanthemums on a black back-ground, above a floral painted bevel edge and painted flowers.
The top opens to reveal four divisions and dividers, the inside is lined with pink paper and the games box has the original key.
The main body is painted with more Chrysanthemums and to the sides the games/card box is fitted with crisply cast ring pull handles.
The sarcophagus shaped box is raised on gilt metal lions paw feet, which are original to the box.
Excellent, handles are also original
