Early 19th century pair of Regency rosewood, and amboyna card tables.
A stunning pair of card tables with rosewood veneered tops crossbanded with amboyna and rosewood bandings and amboyna bandings to the sides. The tops open and swivel to reveal green baize playing surfaces above a shallow frieze that is decorated in amboyna and stylised by Grecian symbols and motifs.
The table tops sit on elegant ebonised ring turned platforms above a solid parcel gilt sphere that terminates on a gilded ring turned disc above fluted and gilded knees. The knees sit on a circular inlaid amboyna plinth and are raised on out-swept inlaid amboyna legs that terminate on the original brass lion paw caps and castors.
