circa 1805 - 1815
Early 19th century Regency period carved giltwood marble top console table after the designs of George Smith.
The rectangular statuary marble top is figured with grey veins and is probably the original top. The marble rests above inverted acanthus leaf decoration and floral motifs adorn the lower section of the frieze. The frieze is set on crisply carved lion monopodia legs that terminate on paw feet and stand above a giltwood plinth. The mirror back plate is original and is supported and flanked by egg and dart moulded uprights.
