Rare early 19th century Regency period rosewood open bookcase cabinet.
The tan leather top is crossbanded in rosewood above a shallow frieze. The moulded bevel edge overhangs the beaded moulding.
The free-standing cabinet is raised on reeded bun feet on concealed castors below crisply carved, tapered columns that flank leather bound bookends.
The leather bound bookends are applied to doors that are concealed but open to reveal two fixed shelves. The faux bookcase ends are full length and support the open bookcase sides. The bookshelves to both sides of the cabinet are fixed to a simulated rosewood panel with the shelves reeded with a single reed.
