George I period 18th century figured walnut lowboy.
The rectangular top with quarter veneers is bordered by half feather and crossbanding with a bevelled thumbnail moulding, above a frieze that consists of a single central drawer, flanked by a pair of half feathered drawers.
The drawers are oak-lined with a single walnut cockbeading and fitted with the original open fret gilt brass backplates and handles above a shaped apron.
The sides are veneered in straight walnut grain opposed to the book matched front figured walnut veneers. The smallest of detail to the sides can be seen above solid walnut cabriole legs that terminate on elegant pad feet.
The item was last retailed by Norman Adams of London.
