George III 18th century period mahogany bow front chest of drawers.
The highly figured top is crossbanded in mahogany with a boxwood stringing and a double moulded thumbnail edge above four graduated drawers. The flamed mahogany drawer fronts are cross banded on oak linings with crisply cut dovetails with the original swan neck gilt brass handles to the fronts. The drawers are of course full in length and retain the original steel locks and gilt brass escutcheons. The bottom apron is dressed with a matching thumbnail moulding above elegant oversized ogee bracket feet.
The chest is well drawn, low in height and in a wonderful original condition retaining a great colour and patina.
