George III 18th century Hepplewhite federal mahogany and gilt mirror made by George F. of New York.
The gilt wood swan neck cornice with carved rosettes and a central flowered urn finial sits above a figured mahogany and gesso frame, with carved gilt wood decoration to the sides and a shaped mahogany frieze. The frame is crossbanded with boxwood string and the mirror retains the original mercury plate and is mounted on a gesso slip with the maker's label on the reverse and states:
'From, GEO.F.OF, Picture Framer, 126 West, 57th Street, New York'.
