Early George II period 18th century walnut and parcel gilt mirror.
A crisply carved eagle is perched on a rocky outcrop, flanked by gilded swan's neck pediments with egg and dart moulding decorated with rosettes and acanthus leaf decoration.
The 18th century mirror plate is mounted on a gilt slip and border. The figured walnut frame is of a lovely golden colour with parcel gilt swags to the sides.
The mirror is rarer than most of this time period because the 'cartouche' was often used to the top pediment.
Possible American interest with the Eagle!
