18th century George III Chippendale period reading table.

The square mahogany top with a detachable book ledge is made with a ratchet height adjuster to the reverse.

The concealed mahogany candle holders are fitted to each side above an oak-lined drawer.

The drawer is fitted with the original gilt brass drop-down 'axe head' handles, brass escutcheon and lock.

The diminutive reading table is raised on four solid mahogany tapered legs that terminate on block feet.
