circa 1826 - 1836
Late Regency George IV period 19th century circular centre table.
A faded burr elm segmented veneered top crossbanded in burr elm. The top has retained a good colour and the patination is sumptuous. The quality of the cabinet making is first class as one has to look very closely to see the segments as they are laid down with perfection.
The frieze and edge are veneered in a figured burr elm and the tilt-top table sits on the original saddle.
(We have photographed the saddle for two reasons: firstly because the saddle is unusually veneered in burr elm, and secondly because the saddle retains the original burr elm colour.)
The table stands on an elegant faceted, segmented and moulded pedestal above a quatraform concave plinth base and is raised on turned bun feet.
