circa 1825 - 1835
Early 19th century gilt and patinated bronze mantel clock by F. Baetens.
The clock is an eight-day chain fusee timepiece by 'F. Baetens, 23 Gerrard St, London' with an anchor escapement movement and decoratively turned pillars. The gilded engine turned mounts adorn the bracket clock with a gilt brass swan that sits above an enamel decorated dial. The dial with Roman numerals is fitted with the original clock hands and the surround is set off by a gilded floral swag against the bronze patination of the rest of the case. The bracket clock is raised on gilt brass engine turned and etched bun feet.
