By THOMAS CHIPPENDALE
England
circa 1765 - 1775
Stunning mahogany Chippendale period fifteen pane astragal glazed two door bookcase with highly figured flamed mahogany veneers. The Greek key cornice, roundels to the book-matched veneered cupboard doors and the original unusual ogee bracket feet make this bookcase a handsome piece of English cabinet furniture from the mid 18th century.
It is in good condition.
The ogee bracket feet have a double moulding which is most unusual. The flamed mahogany to the frame is also most uncommon.
Also the cupboard is low waisted.
