A Sheraton period 18th century George III West Indian satinwood and polychrome bowfront concave card table.
The highly figured polychrome satinwood veneered top is double crossbanded with purpleheart, satinwood, and boxwood, above a concave and bowfront frieze. The frieze is highly figured and crossbanded with purpleheart and boxwood stringing.
The bow fronted section is highly detailed and well drawn with front legs standing proud of the frieze with both rear legs hinged on a gate-leg action. The front legs are most unusual in design and are made of equal length giving a rhombus shape that adds to the detail. The top sections of the legs are inlaid with purpleheart panels above ebony inlays.
The table is raised on four finely tapered legs that stand on spade block feet.
