An early Regency period mahogany davenport fitted with the original gilt brass gallery. The later lined writing top lifts up to reveal storage space and two mahogany lined drawers. The davenport top slides out so that the user can be accommodated and sit comfortably at the desk. The davenport has a bank of graduated drawers to the right hand side and is fitted on both sides with the original gilt brass swan neck handles. The davenport is raised on gilt brass caps and castors and is an excellent early example.
