Simon Powell
Simon has spent much of his working life buying, handling and researching English furniture. Having learnt the trade through years of sourcing antiques across Britain before joining the family business founded by his father in 1987, he believes there is no substitute for handling original pieces and understanding how they were made.
His articles draw on that practical experience, combining historical research with observations gained from decades in the trade to help collectors and enthusiasts better understand English furniture and the stories behind it.
